These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the DutchEngineer learning platform at dutchengineer.org ("Service"), operated by DutchEngineer ("we," "us," or "our"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms.
1. The Service
DutchEngineer provides an online learning platform for AI engineering education, including written lessons, interactive code examples, exercises, capstone projects, and an AI tutor. Some content is free and some may require a paid subscription in the future.
2. Your Account
You must create an account to access the curriculum. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure. You must provide accurate information when creating your account. You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. If you are under 18, you must have permission from a parent or guardian.
3. Your Responsibilities
When using the Service, you agree to:
- Comply with all applicable laws and regulations
- Not share your account credentials with others
- Not attempt to access other users' accounts or data
- Not use the AI tutor to generate harmful, offensive, or inappropriate content
- Not attempt to extract, reverse engineer, or abuse the AI tutor's system prompts or underlying models
- Not use automated tools to scrape or bulk-download course content
- Not redistribute course content without permission
4. Intellectual Property
All course content, including lessons, exercises, code examples, and project descriptions, is owned by DutchEngineer and protected by copyright. You may use the content for your personal learning. You may not redistribute, resell, or republish the content without written permission.
Code you write as part of exercises and capstone projects is yours. We do not claim ownership of your work.
5. AI Tutor
The AI tutor is provided as a learning aid. It is not a substitute for professional advice. Responses are generated by a language model and may contain errors. We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of AI tutor responses.
6. Fees and Payment
The foundations curriculum is currently free. If we introduce paid content in the future, we will notify you in advance. We will never charge you without your explicit consent.
7. Termination
You may delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms. Upon termination, your access to the curriculum will end and your data will be deleted in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
8. Disclaimer of Warranties
The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure. We do not guarantee that course content is free of errors or that the AI tutor will provide accurate responses.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, DutchEngineer shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.
10. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless DutchEngineer from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the Service or violation of these Terms.
11. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Washington, United States, without regard to conflict of law provisions.
12. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by updating the date at the top of this page. Your continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
